RESONANCE
Manly Art Gallery and Museum
This body of work is inspired by my love of deconstructivism in architecture, and 20th century design and colour. It comprises individual sculptural pieces that are interactive and modular in nature, allowing for endless ways to compose and stage the work.
This collection of works is an intersection of the gestural assemblages of Frank Gehry with the linear sweeping curves of Zaha Hadid. The bright colours, light and shadows are reminiscent of Jeffery Smart’s industrial landscapes.
The playful compositions highlight the tenuous interplay of clay, suspension, and balance while shifting shadows expand the work beyond its physical form into the space around it.
